Ardro is a three storey semi-detached (at the front) deceptively large
Victorian family house, situated on quite a steep downhill bend of the Crescent.
Parking however is usually possible, directly opposite the house in a public
parking area. (Should there be no spaces here, it is usually possible to park very
close to the rear access gate/door to the back yard of the property, by driving
downhill and taking the first turn right up the narrow lane.) There are no
pavements on either side of this short stretch of Marine Crescent.
Access to the front door is directly off the road, and one step up through a small gate, then an even tiled path of only approx 5 yards, and two steps up to the front door. There are handrails either side of the steps. Access at the back is via three steps, one at the gate / door off the lane, into the small back yard, which is quite even, and two as you enter the house. (Washroom) There is a downstairs w/c, and a twin bedroom on the ground floor, together with the kitchen and dining room. The w/c is off the washroom. The lounge is on the first floor. The stairway has a banister. Short double banisters are fitted to lead a guest from the main stairway approaching first floor level, off to the right, up 4 more stairs to this rear bedroom. There is an en-suite bathroom off the bedroom, which has one step down to it. A twin bedroom is next to the lounge off to the left on this floor. Non-slip mats are provided for all baths and showers. There are a variety of pillows available. Most of the lounge seating is firm and not too low. All doorways are 75-80cm wide. The house is double-glazed at the front. All lower parts to widows on all floors at the front have an opening restriction for safety purposes. The stairway continues with a banister to the second floor where there is the master bedroom, nursery, and very large bathroom, also with shower. The bath extends directly into the room so there are no grab bars. Mobile phone reception is variable. The phone allows incoming calls, (01766 523324) and outgoing 999calls. Electronic smoke detectors are positioned centrally in the house. A guest using the rear bedroom also has access to the back staircase down to the washroom.
